The Marine Corps League gained congressional approval under Title 36 of the United States Code in 1937 under the stewardship of Commandant Lejeune John. Youth programs target the younger generation who will become future marines. Their activities include programs that instill the core values of marines in the young generation. High and elementary school students have the physical fitness program which runs alongside the Boy Scouts of America. There is a scholarship fund for those interested in education as well as the toys for tots initiative.
