Filipina Dating 101 - The Top 3 Communication Tips For Men Who Want To Date Filipinas

By Dani Choi

Despite all the bad press against them, Filipino women have remained one of the most desired women among foreign men who want to marry traditional women, with "traditional" meaning the woman taking of the house and the men working to support the wife.

And so it goes. Foreign men are still signing up with Filipina dating sites hoping to find a good wife. However, while there are many men who have successfully found good Filipino wives, there are the men out there who are still looking. Some have been at it for the past two years or so. While we understand your frustration, we should say that perhaps there's something you're not doing right in the way you communicate with Filipinas.

In this article, we will tell you about the three ways you should communicate with women from the Philippines so that they stay with you and not leave you out in the cold.

1. Don't be windy ("mahangin")

"Hangin" literally means wind in Filipino but there's a colloquial word called "mahangin", which refers to a person who brags too much or is cocky. If a Filipina loses interest in you after a few chats, it might be that you're coming across as mahangin. To be on the safe side of communication, you might want to start by letting a Filipina do most of the talking.

Filipino women prefer to be with men who are down-to-earth and don't make a big fuss about themselves. So, when you're chatting with a Filipina online, make sure you're not talking too much about yourself.

2. Don't start the conversation with "poverty"

The biggest complaint Filipino women have against foreign men is that many of them believe all women from the Philippines are only after foreign men because they want to get out of a bad financial situation. This affects the way they communicate with Filipinas. Some men even start their online dates with "I have a lot of money and I can get you out of poverty" This really does nothing but make decent Filipinas who have their own jobs feel bad. Although Filipinas don't typically don't earn as much Western women, it doesn't mean they don't have their own pride.

3. Honesty is not always the best policy

Really, and we're speaking from experience, honesty isn't always the best policy when it comes to dealing with Filipinas. They will it against you if you have a bad opinion against Filipinos and the Philippines in general. Another way that you can be too honest with a Filipina is when you talk about the other women you're dating online.

While most Filipinas don't expect you to date them exclusively in the beginning, they don't like it when a man talks about other women or admits that he's dating others. It's just a weird thing that only jealous people will understand.

In all, if you've been trying to Filipinas but have had no luck so far, maybe it's time for you to take stock on how you're communicating with these women. Even though they're the friendliest people on Earth, they are still from a different culture and you need to communicate with them in a way that doesn't invite trouble.
