Many People Wonder Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim

By Angela Briggs

Over the years, a question that has been raised by many individuals is will the Antichrist be a Muslim? There are many reasons people may think this is the case. To certain individuals, it may sound quite logical to think that this individual may be a Muslim, as the latter make it very clear in their writings that they hate Christians. Obviously, by the sheer definition of his name, the anti-christ hates Christians as well.

Certain religions are peaceloving, and some individuals have claimed that Muslims follow a religion of peace. However, in writings such as the Koran, it clearly states that they have a definite "convert you or kill you" attitude toward those of other religions. Many believe that this is proof that the religion Muslims follow is not one of peace.

The Muslims' hatred of Jews is also associated with a complicated and lengthy history. Numerous theologians trace this conflict back to Isaac and Ishmael, the sons of Abraham by his wife Sarah and a concubine, respectively. In the Bible, it is clearly stated that the antichrist will target Jews, and this pattern seemingly applies to Jews and Muslims in today's world.

This intense hatred of Jews began with Mohammed. He claimed that Allah revealed to him that the Jewish race was evil. Many of Mohammed's followers in that day and age went along with this belief. A high number of experts think that this animosity is simply because Jews do not accept Mohammed as their ruler. Christians obviously do not worship this individual either. For this reason, it is easy to see why some people believe that a Muslim Antichrist may be a reality.

Mohammed also claimed that the Jewish race in general was made up of greedy individuals. Christians on the other hand state that Jews are God's chosen race, and for this reason have favor with God above those from other ethnic backgrounds. Mohammed's theory about Jews being selfish individuals is strange, as history has proven that in his early days, Mohammed himself directed his followers to raid caravans and plunder villages to gather spoils in the name of Allah. He reportedly retained 20 percent of these confiscated goods and money for himself.

In addition, Islam is widely known to promote certain types of violence. If one reads the Koran, this cannot be denied. For instance, it explicitly states in certain passages of this book, such as Sura 9:5, that wherever they are found, "idolaters" should be killed. Idolaters, of course, are any individuals who do not believe in Islam's God. This is likely what leads numerous individuals to believe in a Muslim Antichrist.

Those who study eschatology have various opinions concerning the end times. Some believe that the Antichrist may come as an All-American man who is able to fool essentially anyone. Others believe that his initial appearance will be much more sinister than that, and subsequently many people will not be fooled. The Bible states that this person would deceive even the "elect", but adds an addendum "if" that were possible.

Those wondering will the Antichrist be a Muslim will likely not have an answer to their question until the end-time events actually begin to unfold. Many individuals think that we are very close to the end times, while others think the rapture and subsequent tribulation are many years away. Only time will tell who is correct and from where this individual will actually emerge.
