What Harare Church Leaders Need Know

By Katrina Wheeler

You probably remember that while Jesus was still on earth, He asked the disciples to go out to all nations and proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God. He mainly asked them to preach Good News to all men, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The main theme here, therefore, is to make Harare Church a center of true worship where the commission of Jesus is real.

Many sanctuaries today have turned into moneymaking platform and this is a tragic situation, which remains a mystery. The house of God is gradually losing its meaning and if you are keen enough, you will realize that most preachers are misleading the congregation by making them believe in empty promises that may never happen. A few groups of the so-called men of God, sorry to say, are actually misquoting the Bible at their own preference.

Building the body of Christ is actually not an easy task. Well, it seems that the days of Moses, Elijah and John the Baptist are over and for real they are. However, genuine leaders can still stand on their feet and preach the true gospel of Christ that will win souls, minds and lives to Christ. This does not only apply to Harare Church, but also to all the community places of worship that listens to the voice of Christ.

However, the above statement cannot be complete if leaders of the places of worship do not take the actual responsibility left by Christ. It is sad the Bible has become a common book, too good for people to use to make money. Quite a large number of preachers today have turned the gospel of Christ into something no one ever expected would come about.

It seems clear that most leaders have forgotten even the simplest definition of church. In fact, the sow your seed Gospel is spreading like bush fire and most preachers have taken that as an opportunity to make money from the congregation. They do this in a simple way, offering prophetic prayers in exchange for a prophetic offering.

Churches should act as centers of motivation, where people will learn and see Christ as their center of hope and ultimate blessings. When preachers talk about success in business, healing and prosperity in exchange for a prophetic offering, it leaves the weak congregation members who cannot offer money everyday with questions. They go home sad than they went to church.

The question would be that if Jesus himself offered everything of the Kingdom of God to humankind free, then it is scary how things have really changed to what no one ever expected. Everyone is struggling in life and people go to church on Sunday to find refuge in God. Preachers and other leaders should feed the congregation with the right spiritual food that will see them grow, not false promises and teachings in exchange of monetary value.

If Harare Church can emulate the sample of Christ, it can make a good center of worship. People need a place where they can meet Christ and feel His presence. Not a place they can leave worse and troubled than they came.
